Hello babes! Here I am with January’s Birchbox! I actually got to pick a favorite design this month so I chose this one that says ‘Je suis plus brillante qu’un paillette’ because obviously I shine brighter than glitter! 😉 I also love these drawer boxes, they are so cute!

Right away I was excited about the content of this month’s box, I don’t like full size products but I don’t like tiny ones either, these are all perfect sizes! Check out my review of every product below:
The first thing that caught my eye is the Merci Handy Hand Cream, I was excited about this because I love this brand. It contains small beads that pop, similar to the hand gel, it also smells very sweet but not too overwhelming. The cream is lightweight but still moisturizing, perfect for during the day!

This Yuthika Coconut Shower Gel is a lovely shower gel, it foams well and gives a clean feeling but it doesn’t dry out your skin and it actually made my skin quite soft, I just don’t like the strong coconut smell, my shower smelled like a coconut cookie!

I was surprised to see a Laura Mercier product in this box, and as I anticipated; this foundation primer is great! It’s a gel like texture, it applies very smoothly, it feels a little thick on the skin but you don’t even notice it anymore when you apply your foundation. My foundation was on perfectly for an entire day even though I get oily in some areas and I have some dry patches because of my acne treatment. I’m not sure if it really covers blemishes but I did like the look of my skin when I used this!

I’m always wary of shampoos in these boxes, I usually don’t like them for some reason! This Keune Care Vital Nutrition Shampoo is a very nourishing, rich and heavy shampoo. It almost feels like you’ve conditioned your hair as well. My hair felt so soft and was super shiny.

It did weigh down my hair because it is so thin, and make it a little greasier than I’m used to after one day. Although I could see myself using this every once in a while to add a little moisture to my hair, I wouldn’t use it regularly!

And the last product is this super cute Birchbox brush cleanser, it’s quite flexible which I haven’t seen before but something like this is always handy to have around, and it’s such an original thing to add to a beauty box!

This is the last Birchbox of my annual subscription by the way, I’m not planning on renewing it any time soon because I want to save money and have less stuff laying around, but maybe I’ll try out a random beauty box every once in a while!

I’m really excited to have discovered another good primer, which ones do you like? Tell me in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
xoxo Christine

  1. Oh the coconut thing, I like a faint smell, but sometimes it can just be too overwhelming and I really can't handle that. When my housemate cooks with coconut oil, the whole house smells 'bad'. I can't even stay in the kitchen.
